Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen is a place where technical education, research, and collaboration with practice come together. We prepare students for both professional and academic careers in fields with long-term relevance for society and industry.
We offer Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD degree programmes with a strong emphasis on understanding fundamental principles, developing practical skills, and fostering independent thinking. During their studies, students take part in projects, research teams, and collaborations with partners from industry and the public sector.
The faculty’s research activities include both basic and applied research with tangible results applicable in practice. We participate in national and international projects and maintain long-term cooperation with companies and research institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Establishment of the University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Pilsen (VŠSE) as a part of the Czech Technical University in Prague
1950
University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Pilsen as an independent faculty (VŠSE)
1953
VŠSE gained the independent status of a university headed by a rector. At that time, the school had only one department of electrical engineering called "Department of Electrical Engineering."
1960
Establishment of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (at the same time with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering) at the University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Pilsen, new fields focused on electrical power engineering, electronics, and computers have been added
